Environmental Project Manager, EcoTec

Evan Stankunas, the Environmental Project Manager for the firm has been awarded certification as a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) by the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice.

Achievement of the QEP certification is considered to be an accomplishment of the highest order, signifying strong professional and ethical standards in the arena of environmental management. The award comes after rigorous scrutiny of experience and qualifications, and satisfactory completion of a written examination. The QEP certification is the first and only multi-media, multi-disciplinary, board-certified credential of its kind that requires environmental professionals to consider the overall environmental picture and to have the skills and knowledge to resolve real world problems. Through the QEP certification, environmental professionals demonstrate the breadth and depth of their knowledge and experience. It is distinguished from other certifications by its cross-disciplinary nature. The QEP is international in scope and has received accreditation by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB).

As a certified QEP, Mr. Stankunas broadens the range of services we offer to our client base including the ability to certify compliance develop workplans under NYSDEC Environmental Restoration Programs. Additionally, NYSDEC now strongly recommends that all remedial actions be certified or overseen by a QEP, even residential heating oil spills or remediation activities.

With this certification and Mr. Stankunas’ commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards, EcoTec looks forward to helping our clients navigate the complex world of environmental regulations.

During his college years he conducted research on amphibian habitat and land use including radio telemetry studies of frog movements at the Saratoga National Historical Park.
